O Mighty Himalayas!

Image
In a wishful thinking to conquer you, I sprang into mindless preparation. Weeks before trek were bumpy, Yet pressed ahead, believing I could thrive. Shed  a drop of blood here, And pulled myself little there. Yet nothing deterred me, O mighty Himalayas, With breathless steps I inched towards you. Accompanied by pangs of nausea, And bouts of queasiness, I trode at snail pace. Though you rained discomforts, Your captivating charm did not stop me. The cold climate clouded my mind. Every night seemed daunting, With grinding teeth and shivering body. Yet you guarded us, O mighty Himalayas. The summit though not so welcoming, Still I crawled towards you, Bedazzled by your beauty and awed by your aura, A heaven on earth, my eyes could tell. To experience your spectacular sublimity, Twas a challenging journey all along. Yet we embraced each other O mighty Himalayas. Hope you adore me more the next time.

An Uninvited Guest

I wished I had stayed there, yet here I am Waiting for someone before I die soon And here a comes a soul who I hope will save my life Yes, he does and takes me in both his hands Make no mistake this time, I remind myself, I clutched his hands tightly as I enter I slide through an opening, finding my way in Too bad he does not know who I am The breathing lungs and it’s shiny receptors look attractive, The beating heart and it’s cadent cells too seem to invite me So are the idle intestines and it’s twisting tubes at a distant Clueless where to go, we march all over My tribe starts multiplying even before he kn ows Yet he realises at last and begins panicking Off he sends his courageous cytokines, who come to be my comrades If only he washed his hands before taking me in.

Of Twists and Turns

Have you heard the saying, some persons can trip even by walking on a bed of grass or not come out of a wet paper sack? Well, here is the story of my friend- From auto tyres overshooting her foot to an allergic eye due to a thumb sized cucumber, her life has been brimming with such incidents. For instance, levelled lanes and busy railover bridges where people go about their daily drills, do set the stage for her to experience minor carnage moments by either stumbling or falling over. Since such accidents could not be foretold, no backstops could be taken. No trip also goes off unaided by any type of twinges. Once it resulted at a time where a week long trip was accompanied by a cross neck due to a neck pull only from a few minutes of nap. Not only are such adventures inclined towards her, even creepy crawlies are attracted to her. Mosquitoes and bedbugs round only her up at gatherings and groups to quench their cravings, thus her blood earning the title to be so sweet that...

A Forlorn Life of a Farmer

Image
Bright sun shone on his vast barren meadows, His downcast face prayed for an even existence,   With a burdened brain and a fear of future, He dreamt of a miracle uplifting his life. Canal where Cauvery had spread it's wings, Now runs with sweat and tears of his likes, His hands which took care of thousands, Now strives to fill stomachs of few. With his bills building up and choices falling off, The light of hope began to blur With nature too ceasing to lend a hand, He learnt no God can help him.                                             And thus chose to take his own life, Believing his woes would be noticed, With no stable solution still, His death became one among the many

A True Event….

Not so long ago lived a light-hearted lass  In a homely household of a tireless town  So modest, yet laughter adorned her walls,  So gullible, yet so gentle too Twas her perfect prime, her parents presumed,  Twas a solemn span, her brother signed in  Twas a sound say, she sensed too  Twas the right time to lead her to altar, they all surmised Off were relayed messages not so far, In pursuit of a white-collared stag  For he holds the pivot to a prospect as solid as rock  An angle, not his aspect nor his aura were prime They did hit upon one in much haste. After much quibble and squabble on endowment A marriage accord was clinched with a shred of comfort. Yet only time will tell if it was a fair  compromise...

Of Love and Death From the day he laid his eyes on her, He resolved to never give her up, Pined for a fortune in protecting her, And forever did meet her, close up! He was over the moon that day, And as happy as a lark, Till death he vowed not to part away, He knew, even her love was stark Slowly and slyly clouded death, He feared he would fail his mission, Swore to serve her till his final breath, Yet there rests his body in the hands of the mortician Entire nation consoled his widowed wife, And paid tribute to this warrior, so gallant Who selflessly sacrificed his life, For her, our country, so vibrant.

Of fun, friendship and farewell!! Countless exciting exchanges and many daily discourses, These delights never had dearth of sources! We ridiculed each other, We cared for one another. Wearying weeks turned out welcoming, Placid periods made more pleasing. A bond that bloomed during recess, Growing stronger nonetheless. As goes the trend, All good things must come to an end. From being the fabulous foursome, Will be missing someone so awesome.    Memories will linger, Wishing our fascinating friendship grows longer. For your hearty health and a lyrical life, we pray. Bidding you au revoir, Kay!!

Musings of My Two Wheeler Experience       Riding a two wheeler has become a child's play in our country, that many adults lose the game badly! I did not begin this endeavor as a teen like many others. But when I did start, I realized that you need not be like an Ambi of Anniyan to master it! This is because on busy urban roads every minute is a guaranteed drama.                           Imagine or rather recollect this setting where you are stuck between two cars, moving an inch left or an inch right to increase your breathing space would either render a honk from your back or a stare from the front. But let me not blame my four wheeler friends for they are the most over protective species on the roads (of course I mean the sane ones). The biggest threats are sometimes from the ones with bigger tyres or ones that h...

Looking Back      As I tread closer, the noise grows louder Was it like this years ago, I wonder! A tinge of smile appears as I remember, How could I, if I was one among them! As I enter, a rush of memories I recall, The building remains beautiful and tall, There some children laugh and fall, Oh yes,I remember I was one among them! The corridors looked smaller, The stairs have become narrower, How can this be true,I ponder, Or do I now belong to a world much bigger? Faces filled with smiles looked at us, And shower of wishes were rained at us, The bond with your Alma-mater being so strong, That it makes me to go back in time and live!

From Kathipara to Gemini -- The story of my one month corporate life

Image
As I rewind a month back, I still remember myself going through a lot of muddled emotions during the last days of my college still as a student! I was very much confused whether to feel relieved that my tryst with exams for more than a decade is finally over or to feel disappointed that the most stimulating page of my biography has come to an end. But even before I could steer clear of my feelings, I stepped into a new dimension of my life-Corporate Life as everyone calls it, barely 3 days after my final project review. I felt everything being changed overnight-From being a normal college goer to a working professional!                       TO                               ...

If only they could talk!!               It was middle of the night and I s aw my parents sound asleep. But why did I wake up? Was it a bad dream or something else? Oh well, it was because of the long lost acquaintanceship with my seasonal guests. But to my surprise my parents were sleeping unperturbed in spite of them! I was cur ious more of 'why me' than 'how it could be'. And then that night's slumber was almost ruined. Thus begun my tryst with these 'so called' friends for that day...            That morning I got into a bus and saw people who were sitting near me, with their hands off their legs either on window sills or holding a bar 'very happily'. But as I looked at myself, my hands were always uninviting my 'friends' off my legs at that juncture. I wondered if they followed me up till here or were they 'their' friends? But why me a...

Why should the world end in 2012?             Come, December 21, 2012 we will all know if the world is really going to end or not. Whenever we find out that there is an earth quake or any disaster somewhere, we attribute it to the world ending. So what will happen to our future plans? Leave future goals! Will our new-year plans materialize at least? Or will we know if we have passed or failed in our exams before the world ends? (If the world is really going to end, who cares about these things!!). And what about our favorite films releasing after December 21? Will we get to watch those before the world ends? ( a hardcore movie buff’s worry!) .Each one of us will have some list like this before we depart from this world. But now do we have enough time to ‘do our ten things before we die’? We may worry about these things just because we know how close the world is going to end.           ...
