Of Love and Death

From the day he laid his eyes on her,
He resolved to never give her up,
Pined for a fortune in protecting her,
And forever did meet her, close up!

He was over the moon that day,
And as happy as a lark,
Till death he vowed not to part away,
He knew, even her love was stark

Slowly and slyly clouded death,
He feared he would fail his mission,
Swore to serve her till his final breath,
Yet there rests his body in the hands of the mortician

Entire nation consoled his widowed wife,
And paid tribute to this warrior, so gallant
Who selflessly sacrificed his life,
For her, our country, so vibrant.
