Musings of My Two Wheeler Experience       Riding a two wheeler has become a child's play in our country, that many adults lose the game badly! I did not begin this endeavor as a teen like many others. But when I did start, I realized that you need not be like an Ambi of Anniyan to master it! This is because on busy urban roads every minute is a guaranteed drama.                           Imagine or rather recollect this setting where you are stuck between two cars, moving an inch left or an inch right to increase your breathing space would either render a honk from your back or a stare from the front. But let me not blame my four wheeler friends for they are the most over protective species on the roads (of course I mean the sane ones). The biggest threats are sometimes from the ones with bigger tyres or ones that have overhead tank. Everyday news papers carry stories of people getting run over by these death messengers. So merely spotting them anywhere

From Kathipara to Gemini -- The story of my one month corporate life

As I rewind a month back, I still remember myself going through a lot of muddled emotions during the last days of my college still as a student! I was very much confused whether to feel relieved that my tryst with exams for more than a decade is finally over or to feel disappointed that the most stimulating page of my biography has come to an end. But even before I could steer clear of my feelings, I stepped into a new dimension of my life-Corporate Life as everyone calls it, barely 3 days after my final project review. I felt everything being changed overnight-From being a normal college goer to a working professional!                       TO                                       Since my corporate life and college life share the same city, the memories of my college life snap in and out of me frequently, as I go through my daily routine.           Now the first thing my mom says when I get up is that it is not my final semester to just

If only they could talk!!               It was middle of the night and I s aw my parents sound asleep. But why did I wake up? Was it a bad dream or something else? Oh well, it was because of the long lost acquaintanceship with my seasonal guests. But to my surprise my parents were sleeping unperturbed in spite of them! I was cur ious more of 'why me' than 'how it could be'. And then that night's slumber was almost ruined. Thus begun my tryst with these 'so called' friends for that day...            That morning I got into a bus and saw people who were sitting near me, with their hands off their legs either on window sills or holding a bar 'very happily'. But as I looked at myself, my hands were always uninviting my 'friends' off my legs at that juncture. I wondered if they followed me up till here or were they 'their' friends? But why me again? And finally I walked to my college thinking that they wo

The Olympic Oath                       The eminent sports ritual has come to an end. And India was able to savor something which it never did in the past-Six medals from six champions. These medals, this celebration has come at the right time for us, just before our Independence Day.           Starting with, Gagan Narang opened the account for India not just by winning bronze but by winning many hearts. Following up this was Vijay Kumar who carried silver and sent the message to the world that perseverance is the key to success no matter where you are.  An unassailable Saina assured us another medal. Well another woman champion, Mary Kom was not far behind as she gave us the sweetest medal. Yogeshwar Dutt added another one to our kitty. The flag bearer’s consistency ensured that we didn’t go empty handed on the last day.           But for a nation of 1.2 billion people, the participation itself was meager even considering the fact that the number of medals we achieved w

An Era of Sunshine                                Scorching above normal everyday, the seering sun never tires. With its intensity becoming only higher every day, I wonder where it gets all its energy from. A day out in this sunshine would be described by many in many ways. For instance  if you ask my mother she would say it is similar to showing a hot steaming bowl of water to one's face every minute or if you ask me I would say it is like sitting inside a hot lava.Well, some people do make hay while the sun shines.Ranging from air conditioners to hand fans, fresh juices to water packets, coolers to kerchiefs every thing sell like hot cakes.                              A day the sun may have hidden behind the clouds but its heat wave is sure to shower its fury on us unhindered. "Come what may" has become the attitude of the sun that it never fails to turn up for work. Indeed a lot of things to be learnt fr
